Trip - Outer Banks Inshore Fishing Charter on August 28, 2025

This is my first time booking a charter, my son and I have recently taken to fishing and are still very much beginners lol. I went with Riptide for a midday 4 hour trip and had a blast, I definitely recommend Capt. Randy he's super knowledgeable and experienced, he's down to earth and easy to chat with. He explained the process every step of the way and answer all of my questions and there was a lot, I genuinely learned a ton, and will be booking again.

Trip - Full-Day Nearshore Fishing Charter on June 26, 2025

6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

We met up with Capt Randy at 6am on a (really) hot day in late June 2025 for a 6 hour fishing trip. Based on the days conditions, Capt Randy recommended a run out to a reef for bottom fishing. We road about 45-50 mins out to the reef on a very calm ocean day. On our out to the reef, we spotted a sea turtle and got a cobia on a lucky cast. Capt Randy trained us on the reef fishing techniques and we caught many fish! Black Seabass, Triggerfish, and Sea Robin Fish. Many fish we had to toss back, but we did keep a handful. Wonderful day for a family of 4 (14yo, 16yo) on a six hour trip.

Trip - Private Inshore Fishing Charter Wanchese for Redfish and Sea Trout on June 17, 2025

We had a wonderful trip. I booked the 2 hour trip with Captain Randy since it was the first time my daughter and wife had been fishing in the bay/ocean. We each caught fish, the captain was knowledgeable, friendly, down to earth, helped bait all fishing poles, and given the wait time to have our fish cleaned he did it for us. We of course gave him a nice tip. Highly recommend this trip if you have children who have never been fishing in the bay/ocean. We will be booking a longer trip with captain Randy the next time.

Trip - Outer Banks Inshore Fishing Charter on June 16, 2025

We explained to Capt. Randy we wanted to catch fish to eat for dinner. He delivered! We had a great time tolling and taking turns catching and yes even missing a few. Capt. Randy was easy to work with and everyone caught fish. He showed us how to bring them in and remove them and to the ice chest they went. Really super fun. Not our first trip out fishing in the Ocean but the best ever. Capt. Randy is patient and laidback so kids would have a good time. Everything was in great working order, boat clean and ready to go when we arrived. We were very pleased. Thank you Captain Randy.

This was our first ever fishing trip and man was it one for the books! Captain Randy and Drake are A+. All 5 of us caught more fish than we ever have and raved about it all evening to our crew who didn’t go. Definitely choose Riptide Charter for your next fishing adventure

We’ve been looking forward to this trip for a while, and it did not disappoint! We booked the 4-hour morning trip with my 3 kids, and Randy had us fishing in no time. We started by catching 50 croakers for bait, then went out for speckled trout. Once we hit the bag limit, we moved to a new spot for red drum. Randy was fantastic with the kids and kept us hooked the entire time. It was a great experience, and we’re already looking forward to our next trip!

Took a 4-hour trip with my two daughters (11/9) and had an awesome time! Captain had us catching bait fish within 15 minutes, and nothing makes kids happier than fish in the boat. From there, we headed to a spot where the captain knew the speckled trout would be, and we almost hit our limit! Highly recommend taking a trip with this knowledgeable and skilled captain.

Had a great time fishing with Captain Randy! He was very knowledgeable and put us on the fish right away. Even when the triggerfish kept stealing our bait, he kept us fishing and having fun. Highly recommend Riptide Charters!

What an amazing trip! Our 6-hour fishing adventure was unforgettable. Captain Randy knows every inch of the ocean and found the perfect spots for us. He even took time to point out sea turtles and stopped for us to get a good look. He was fantastic with kids, making my 10-year-old feel like the king of the boat. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone wanting an incredible time on the water. Thanks, Captain Randy, for a trip we will remember forever.
